PS3 Controller Fix Tips

When something goes wrong with your controller you probably don’t even consider needing a PS3 controller fix. It’s just as easy to go out and buy a new one. But that’s not always the best solution. If the problem is in your console, then you could buy a dozen new controllers and none of them are going to work. You need a manual that has more than one PS3 controller fix – one that addresses issues you may have with the console, too.

You can try a couple of different fixes – for example, plug your controller into the USB controller charger, press “PS”, then uplug the charger and press “PS” again to try to reset it so it syncs with the bluetooth element.

Or you could try opening up the case on the console and blowing out dust and checking for loose wiring or loose chip connections. Also, make sure your console is well-ventilated; many problems are caused by overheating.

But if you don’t really know what you’re looking for you could end up doing more harm then good when you open that case. And once the PS3 console needs repair you’re looking at at least $150 and 6 weeks without your system if you have to send it to Sony. And when Sony sends it back to you those 600 hours you’ve put in on Guitar Hero are going to be wiped off the drive.

While the PS3 is one of the most reliable gaming systems on the market, it’s also not that difficult to repair yourself. You could accomplish a PS3 controller fix yourself in a matter of an hour or two and save yourself a lot of time and money. And you can protect all that game data you have stored on the drive. All you need are a few tools you probably already have around the house and a good PS3 repair guide.

Fix Your PS3 Without Spending A Fortune

Fix Your PS3 Without Spending A Fortune

I understand you have a little problem. Well, perhaps to you it is a big problem. Regardless, we can make this little thing go away. I’m talking about the problem you are having with your Playstation 3 whose 1 year warranty has recently expired. Maybe Sony is a cabal of evil geniuses who can make your PS3 fail at will, but more likely, you are simply the victim of a shoddy manufacturing process that Sony has no need or desire to fix, since it’s not going to stop you from purchasing their consoles. But don’t worry because I’m about to tell you everything you need to know to fix your PS3 yourself.

The truth is that no manufacturing process is perfect and even less so when we are talking about sophisticated electronics. With the price you paid for your PS3, you’d think it would be handed down for generations, from father to son. Actually if you go two complete years with no problems you are lucky. If you never experience the dreaded yellow light of death and never have to fix your PS3 then you are indeed fortunate. Most people will sooner later encounter a problem, one that is more than likely caused by poor soldering. The good news is that there is a fairly simple trick that can fix the problem.

The veins of a PS3 are made of solder and often this solder is less than perfect. Occasionally a connection is broken due to poor soldering and needs to be fixed. This problem would be extremely easy to fix if you knew where the break was, but you usually don’t. Therefore a more system wide technique has been devised to fix your PS3. A handy little guide found on the internet will explain everything you need to know to affect this 15 minute repair and get your system powered up and back into operation.

Playstation 3 – Upgrade your Hard-Drive

Playstation 3 – Upgrade your Hard-Drive

You may be finding the hard-drive on your PS3 too small for your growing collection of games & other media.  If you only have a 20 or 60 GB hard-drive you may be wondering when you’ll have to upgrade your console.  There is another option that’s less expensive, which can extend the useful life of your console quite a lot.

A hard-drive upgrade kit will allow you to swap out the hard-drive in your console for a larger one, even up to 320GB.  The kit comes with video instructions, so you don’t need to be a mechanical wizard or have any special skills.  It’s not a long or complicated job.  The benefits can be enormous, though, when you find yourself with a whole new expanse of electronic real estate for your favorite games, demos, HD-videos, and other media.

When you look for an upgrade kit, check that it’s covered by it’s own warranty.  If your console is still within the warranty period you might want to check that the upgrade kit does not affect your original warranty coverage from Sony.  After that, install and enjoy!  You can check out Amazon for various PS3 Hard Drive upgrade options. Check the reviews; if you’re comfortable working on your own console, you may not need to pay for a specific PS3 upgrade kit because third party drives will apparently work fine.
